After two very long months of construction, complications, and delays, I finally have the pleasure of presenting you with my new kitchen! I can hardly believe it’s real, that I can take fresh food out of my very own refrigerator and cook it on my very own stove. I never want to eat out again, or to buy anything ready-made from the grocery store. And I definitely don’t want to see any pizza delivery for a long, long time.
My first trip to the grocery store was gluttonous. You should have seen me, skipping around the refrigerated aisles, giggling every time I threw a perishable into my grocery cart, “Emilio! Look at ME! I’m buying MILK!”
It was all worth the wait, though. My kitchen now runs like a well-oiled machine; my sparkling new Kitchen Aid appliances purr like kittens and my big shiny red drawers comfortably hold all of my cooking gear.
In all the chaos of moving and renovations, there’s another small detail I might have forgotten to mention… Something that’s been taking over my body, zapping my energy and monopolizing my thoughts over the past months.
That’s right, Un’Americana in Cucina has another bun in the oven, this time a baby boy, due at the end of January.
So as you can imagine, it’s been a hectic few months, stressful and chaotic but also full of exciting changes and the promise of beautiful things to come… like the crushed ice dispensed directly from my new refrigerator for example. That is a beautiful thing.
